Friendship with God — Psalm 84:5 [a practical, devotional study of scripture]

Excerpt from Devotional Sessions | Friendship with God

Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage (Psalm 84:5, prompted from Devotional Sessions – Phil Rice).

So where do we go from here? Take some time and meditate on this passage of scripture from the psalms. Blessed are you who belong to the Lord. Blessed are you whose heart is postured forward on pilgrimage with Jesus. He will be your strength as you journey together. We have gone to deep places in this short series, Friendship with God, and now we move beyond the script. We have journeyed through understanding how God desires to be with us and how we can be with him. We have even come to him for next steps. And now it’s time to continue forward.

Invite Holy Spirit to impress upon you how to rest in the strength of God amidst the journey. If you need language to pray, simply say, Holy Spirit, show me how to rest in God’s strength. I confess that my strength is never greater than that of the Father. Show me how to continually rest in this strength as we journey together and as we grow in deeper friendship with one another. Amen.
